Live location · Voluntary

On the map,
when we mean to be.

A switchable GPS map for me—and anyone else who actively opts in. Anyone can create their own short-lived sharing session; Shtory stores no trail, but an outside viewer can record any approximate or exact point while it is active.

Default state: completely off

Consent-only GPS

Present tense,
by choice.

Each dot belongs to an active, expiring share. Pulsing dots are updating now; faded dots are the latest accepted fix from a browser that has stopped updating. Approximate mode deliberately blurs the published position.

Designed to disappear

Live presence,
not surveillance.

01

Explicit

GPS starts only after the person presses Start on their own phone.

02

Temporary

Pause and Stop remove the public point. A server-enforced timer is the final backstop.

03

Current only

Shtory replaces the present point and stores no trail. Outside viewers can still copy or record an active point.

04

Independent

Every person creates a separate temporary name, colour and control key inside their own browser tab.

Exact mode is available, but requires a second explicit warning. Approximate sharing is the recommended default; either kind of active point can be recorded by somebody viewing the public page.
