The First Touch
I gave Codex a server and watched a website take shape.
Seriously: this whole site was made with Codex, and I’m floored by it.
It also built a local editor so I can add posts and change the site without needing AI every time. I fully expected to have to run codex every time to make a change on the site, but the complex machine has left me a tool to simplify it.
The obvious caveat is cost. Tokens punish careless wandering, and I would happily run the most capable AI model at everything if that were cost effective. It isn’t. So part of learning this is learning when to use the heavy machinery and when ordinary tools are enough.
Still, it made me a website I genuinely want to keep working on. That feels like a decent start, but will I renew the pro subscription?
